The Praia dos Artistas has this name because of several artists who frequented the place in the 70s, among them are Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa and Gilberto Gil. Currently, the place is frequented by GLBT public of Salvador. Surrounded by a beautiful coconut trees and small dunes, the beach is rocky and a very fine sand. In the region is the seat of Esporte Clube Bahia and there are several sports fields next to the beach. On the edge there is a jogging track and a bike path that are used by the players to practice physical exercises. Because of pollution and rough sea, the beach is usually not recommended for bathing.
